Do I really need an account?

No. The CV is built and downloaded without signing up. The account only saves it and makes your profile visible to employers.

Is my CV published anywhere?

Never automatically. A CV is only published if you create an account and explicitly choose to publish it.

What if I close the page?

Your draft is kept in your browser: reopen the page on the same phone and it will be there.
