How to Find a Trusted Domestic Helper in Douala and Yaoundé

Living in Douala or Yaoundé and looking for someone for cleaning, cooking or laundry? You're not alone. Thousands of Cameroonian households need regular domestic help, but finding the right person — reliable, skilled, available — remains a challenge.

Word of mouth sometimes works, but it has limitations: the recommended person isn't always available, pricing is never clear, and there are no guarantees. SangoServices helps you find and compare housekeepers near you, then contact them directly.

Whether you need a domestic helper for:

• A one-time deep clean (2,000 to 8,000 FCFA)
• Regular weekly cleaning (schedule agreed directly with the person)
• Cooking for a family meal (3,000 to 10,000 FCFA)
• Laundry and ironing (2,000 to 5,000 FCFA)
• Market grocery runs (2,000 to 4,000 FCFA)

Know what you want before contacting anyone: tasks, days, hours, budget. Then browse housekeeper profiles in Douala or Yaoundé. It's free, with no commission. You pay the person directly, in cash or via Mobile Money.

On every SangoServices profile, you can see:

• An SMS-verified phone number (for everyone)
• A photo and introduction — experience, specialties, neighborhood
• A minimum rate in FCFA
• The "ID verified" badge for those who had their ID document checked by the team
• The number of hires confirmed by employers, when there are any

You're not choosing blindly. Compare two or three profiles, then contact them on WhatsApp: introduce yourself, describe the work and suggest a meeting.

On SangoServices, you search by neighborhood; if nobody matches in yours, the directory shows you the nearest housekeepers. A few neighborhoods to search in:

Douala: Bonapriso, Akwa, Bonanjo, Deïdo, Bépanda, Bonabéri, Makepe, Logpom, Kotto, Ndokotti

Yaoundé: Bastos, Nlongkak, Mvan, Biyem-Assi, Mvog-Mbi, Mfandena, Omnisport, Nsimeyong, Nkolbisson, Emana

The more workers registered in your area, the wider the choice. If you know a good housekeeper, encourage her to create her free profile.

Found an exceptional helper? Don't lose her. Start with a trial day and, if all goes well, save her number and agree directly with her on a weekly schedule: cleaning every Monday, cooking every Friday.

Agree together on the amount, the payment day (weekly or monthly) and what happens in case of absence. Pay on time: a good housekeeper stays with serious employers. And if SangoServices asks whether you hired her, confirm it: it helps her find other families.
