At a supermarket in Bonapriso, I served an average of 200 customers a day, in French and English, handling Mobile Money and double-checked change. My supervisor entrusted me with Saturday till closing — the busiest day.
Your store is known for fast service and loyal neighbourhood customers; that is exactly the environment where I perform best, in direct contact with clients.

The 4-Paragraph Structure
The cover letter accompanies your CV and answers the recruiter's real question: why you, for this specific position? The example above follows the 'you + the company + the match' pattern:
- ¶1 — The hook: name the position and where you saw the ad, then one sentence that makes them keep reading ('Three years on the till without a single discrepancy: that's what I offer your supermarket').
- ¶2 — You: your 2-3 achievements most relevant to THIS position, with numbers where possible. Not your CV repeated — its best part, developed.
- ¶3 — The company: show you know it (products, values, news) and why you want to work there specifically.
- ¶4 — The meeting: propose the interview, give your availability and phone number, short closing formula.
Length: 250–350 words. Beyond one page, it doesn't get read.
No Experience? Here Is What to Write
- Small jobs count: market selling, helping in the family shop, babysitting, tutoring — that is real experience. A holiday job proves your reliability.
- Transferable skills: punctuality, bilingualism, Android phone fluency, Mobile Money, quick mental arithmetic.
- Concrete motivation: 'I want to learn the sales trade and can start tomorrow' beats three empty sentences about your 'dynamism'.
